Tennessee is located in the "Southeast" section of the United States (See Figure 1). The state has a strong agriculture industry, primarily tobacco and cotton, as well as feed corn, rice, etc.
Middle Tennessee is home to Saturn Corp and Nissan Motor Corp, plus numerous other auto related manufacturing plants. It is also home to Jack Daniels Distillery

Nashville, the capital of Tennessee, is located in almost the center point of the state. Nashville is known for a variety of businesses and specialties:
- Banking and finance
- Major publishing companies
- There are more than 65,000 residents who live in Nashville/Davidson County and over 1M who work in and around the city of Nashville.
- Sixteen universities make it a center for learning and teaching and has earned the city the nickname "Athens of the South"

Music Industry
Entertainment industry has earned for Nashville the nickname "Music City, USA."
- Home of the famous Grand Old Opry and Ryman Auditorium (Figure 3)

- Opryland / Opry Mills - one of the world's largest hotels & shopping malls
- Country Music Hall of Fame (Figure 4)

- RCA, Sony, BMI, and many other recording companies are located on Music Row
- Numerous music venues: Country, Western, Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, and Classical groups perform on a regular basis

Additionally, the Sara Lee Women's Golf Tournaments have been held in Nashville for the past decade. Recently, the Ladies Professional Golfers Association (LPGA) tour event was changed played at The Legends Golf Course (See Figure 5).

Nashville is home to several major professional sports teams and events:
