This year's workshop theme addresses
fundamental issues of the co-existence of human and intelligent
machines and recent advancements of technological advancements as well
as psychological research on interactive communication and
collaboration. Traditionally, RO-MAN workshops aim to expand research
outcomes to the real-world applications for the enhancement of
human-competence in such intelligent-human-machine interaction in a
networked society. Philosophical fundamentals, psychological
advancements and methodological extensions towards new human-robot
interaction paradigms are comprehensively scoped in the workshop. The
focus of the workshop includes the following topics. The workshop will
also include special sessions.
|
|
Papers reporting original and unpublished research results pertaining to the above and related topics are being solicited. Submissions should include the title, all authors, e-mail and postal address(es), tel/fax numbers, and abstract on the first page. All paper submissions should be in English and 4-6 pages in length (using the IEEE two-column template).
Only online submissions will be accepted. Authors should represent substantially new work that has not been previously published. RO-MAN 2005 Workshop papers will be selected on their originality, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. The paper submission deadline is April 20. Online instructions for authors will be available by mid-February. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit their final version for publication in the Proceedings. Final camera-ready submissions are due by June 25. Special Session Proposals and PapersSpecial Sessions should be submitted to the Conference Technical Committee Co-Char, Prof. Sarkar via e-mail (nilanjan.sarkar@vanderbilt.edu). The Proposed Special Session format should plan for three to five papers. Special Session Chairs will collect and be responsible for their session papers. Special Session Chairs set the paper submission deadline for their session. However the deadlines for notification of acceptance of papers and the receipt of camera ready final papers in special sessions will abide by the same deadlines as regular papers. For those who have not proposed a session, please complete the short Intent for Special Session form and submit to Dr. Sarkar. We look forward to hearing from you.
